WHAT IS KRIGSMAN TO YOU?

Krigsman is a place I can go to get grounded, tune out the craziness of everyday life, and connect with an incredible community. It is a safe space to show up and connect with others or turn inward and focus on yourself.

ALYSON’S CLASS: CHARGED ATMOSPHERIC LAYERED

  • Fun fact: Krigsman is the Swedish word for warrior, and my husband’s nickname for me in college was “The Viking” because he thought I looked Nordic. When I moved to Hingham and started looking for a yoga studio to teach at, I saw the Krigsman logo and immediately felt like it was meant to be.

  • I always feel amazing after a class. You sweat out the stress, work your muscles, and get a great stretch. I leave feeling stronger, clearer, and more grounded than when I walked in.

  • Living in the now versus living in the future and constantly thinking about what is next. I struggle with being present and have always been someone looking for the next big thing to overcome. My mantra right now is “content with being,” which, if you knew me, is a hard one to live by since I am usually not content with sitting still. Yoga is one of the main ways I slow down, get present, and focus on my breath.

  • I would slow down. We are so hardwired in the US to constantly go. We are afraid that if we slow down, we will miss out on life, but sometimes life is actually about slowing down so you do not miss it.

WHAT DOES THE HARD MEAN TO YOU?

“Facing your biggest fears. For me, that meant taking a step back from a company I started and ran for eight years and being willing to relinquish control of something I worked incredibly hard to build.”

ALYSON’S TOP TUNES

Music is everything. I listen to music nearly all day, every day, whether I am working out, teaching yoga, dancing with my kids, or DJing for fun. I love all forms of house music, and when I hear a good beat, everything else fades away and I become completely present in my body.
