WHY KRIGSMAN?

There are always lessons to learn on your mat—Krigsman provides that opportunity in a very easy, no frills, kind of way. My story is funny. Early in my yoga days, I was NOT a hot yoga fan. In my 20’s, I did a 200hr teacher training in New York City, taught a little privately, and then moved to Boston for grad school. During that time, I couldn’t find a studio that “felt right”,  and I fell out of my practice. I had been a few times to Krigsman after it opened, but it wasn’t until the Spring of 2023 that I had the chance to connect with Amanda one morning after class. Later that year, she called to let me know there was a teacher training coming up. When I said I wasn’t sure if I liked hot yoga she said “That would be a barrier [I’d] have to work through.” Remembering that conversation now cracks me up. But it truly illustrates the beauty of Krigsman. Amanda posed zero judgement on my reservations. She didn’t try to convince me otherwise, she just simply opened the door—I was the one who decided to walk through.

MEG’S CLASS: PURPOSEFUL LIGHTHEARTED IMPACTFUL

  • A place where I can be quiet and realign my head and my heart.

  • I feel really good. I feel more centered and clear … and sometimes tired. And the quality of the infrared heat feels sooooo good. It’s not just a hot room. I’m obsessed.

  • Showing up for myself first—especially as a Mom. As my family grows, I am also trying to learn when to get out of the way and allow my children to grow into the people they already are. I am always playing around with when do I need to push, and when should I back off. I don’t want to over involve myself in everyone else’s stuff.

  • Get a giant snake tattoo and teach a class with nothing but epic Celine Dion ballads. Hahaha. But honestly, I would not be so afraid of making mistakes. I wouldn’t focus so much on what could go wrong. I would first look at what could go right.

WHAT DOES THE HARD MEAN TO YOU?

“The way to get better at hard is to invite it in, examine it, and sit with it. We have to practice the hard things and to realize how strong we actually are. When something is hard for me I find it’s usually related to fear and self-doubt.”

MEG’S TOP TUNES

Music is an escape. And gives us a way to connect to our spirits. There is nothing like a good song that perfectly fits your mood. Music also often connects me to a particular time from my past. I love the nostalgic connections music makes.

Someone once told me that “looking at someone’s playlist is kind of like looking in their underwear drawer.” It can be super intimate and make you feel really vulnerable. When I’m making a playlist I often have a certain vibe or feeling in mind.
