WHAT IS KRIGSMAN TO YOU?
Krigsman is a safe space characterized by non-judgment, creativity, community, and fun—a place to let go of stress.
For me, it serves as a vital connection to the community in town. If I had not discovered the heart beat of Krigsman I would not have acclimated so easily to a new home.
COURTNEY’S CLASS: VIBEY ELECTRIC ENCOURAGING
-
I discovered Krigsman during the pandemic while we were confined to our small apartment in Southie. I came across their online classes, which were the only ones that made me sweat at home. They uniquely featured someone speaking the flow off-camera while another person demonstrated. Intrigued, I researched the studio and fell in love with its brand, tone, and aesthetic.
Three years later, my perspective has evolved. Whether teaching or practicing, I feel lighter after each class. The experience of teaching and practicing is cyclical, providing consistent value and renewal.
-
My feelings after class vary from day to day. Some days, I feel like a complete beginner, wondering where my practice has gone. Other days, I leave feeling strong and open. There are also times when the experience is less about physical exercise and more about releasing mental burdens.
Regardless of how I feel during the class, I always notice that I leave feeling lighter, sharper at work, and more patient throughout my day.
-
I prefer to view challenges as opportunities, finding ways to go under, over, or through them. This mindset stems from my design background, where I learned to critique and be critiqued—a mental framework that required me to develop tolerance. This experience has helped me build resilience, although I still have my human moments.
Every single class presents a challenge for me, whether I'm teaching or practicing. It's a ritual I strive to maintain.

I believe it's impossible to be completely free of fear. If I weren’t afraid, I might become unhinged. Fear serves a purpose; it helps us confront challenges and improve ourselves and our relationships with others. We need to accept our limitations and learn to move past them. The most significant growth often comes from facing life's challenges head-on.
